MORRISTOWN, N.J. — Rich history and style, American, European and Asian, will come together to create the highly anticipated Morristown Armory Antiques Show which will be held Nov. 7-8, 2009. Exceptional art, antique furnishings, porcelain, pottery and jewelry are what shoppers can expect to immerse themselves in for these two important days. Show promoter Allison Kohler, JMK Shows, is excited about this year’s event and the hand-selected antiques dealers that will be selling at the show, who will fill the Armory attracting both savvy buyers and those looking to incorporate the rich style of antiques into their interior décor.

Among the dealers that will highlight this two-day event is Joseph J. Lodge, known throughout the Northeast for his exclusive and carefully selected early American furniture, folk art and weathervanes. Among the pieces he will have at the show is an early 19th century small Pennsylvania Dutch cupboard in original red paint and a late 19th century full-bodied running fox weather vane.

Specialists in European pottery, Cara Antiques, will impress collectors, both experienced and novice, with their extensive and important collections of Clarice Cliff and Majolica as well as Moorcroft and Gouda.

Art glass aficionados will appreciate the colors, designs and quality in the selection coming from renowned dealer Myers-Huffman of Los Angeles. From Lalique to Italian glass makers such as Venni and Martens, only the finest will be offered.

Shoppers looking for the exceptional in period dining room furniture will be interested in the selection coming from Roger Winter. Among the pieces he will feature is a rare large Regency dining table measuring 78 inches in diameter and a two-pedestal Georgian dining table. A set of 8 Hepplewhite shield-back dining chairs is exceptional as is the very rare Irish card table with carved eagle heads on the legs. Rounding out his fine collection will be a George III Hepplewhite mahogany sideboard with inlaid satinwood panels, circa 1790-1800.

The richness and quality of James Wm. Lowery Fine Art and Antiques will be exemplified in his selection of furniture and objets d’art. Specializing in American pre-Industrial Revolution (1840) pieces, Lowery focuses on presenting antiques that represent exceptional form, design and integrity. Among the highlights of his offerings will be a set of four mahogany classical side chairs circa 1820-1825 and a fine quality American Chippendale highboy, circa 1750-1775.

John Wilson, Wilson Main Line Antiques will feature diverse offerings of both fine English and Continental 18th and 19th century furniture and accessories.

For art aficionados, Piccolo Art will offer a fine array of figurative works by listed artists. Two works of note will be an Italianate style painting of a New England row house with flowers (American School) and an oil on canvas by Robert Tolman, circa 1910, of his wife. Known also as specialists in portraits and portrait miniatures, they will feature a historic portrait of George Wilton (circa 1780) along with a hand-drawn map of New York City and his land holdings at the time.

Rounding out this two-day event will be the opportunity to have your treasures appraised at the Certified Appraisal Clinic. The show will also offer expert glass, porcelain and pottery restoration and repair services. And, to add the perfect ambiance for the event, on Saturday, The Thomas Kneeland duo will perform throughout the day and on Sunday, classical violinist Daisy Joplin will perform.

For two exciting days, the Morristown Armory Antiques Show will be the destination for the finest in antique furnishings, accessories and art. From the important to the whimsical, this shopping event will offer something for everyone.
