BRIMFIELD, Mass. — One of the earliest openers, Grand Trunk Antiques’ doors open at daybreak May 14-19, July 9-14 and Sept. 3-8, 2013. With no gate, closing is at the discretion of the individual dealers. Admission is free, and parking is only $5.
This year, Grand Trunk reports they are catering to the breakfast crowd by hosting Nellie’s Deli & Donuts, who will be making fresh, hot donuts on the spot. Nellie’s is also offering breakfasts, lunches and snacks; they are known for their great coffee.
Owners Jim and Luiza Hopkins, who launched Grand Trunk in 2009, say their show stands out because, “The dealers here are highly reputable and are willing to make great deals with the buyers who come from all over the world. In fact, in the past we’ve hosted containers from as far away as Belgium to fill and ship back with finds from Brimfield.”
They also say, “This is the place for the first-timers because our seven banners along Route 20 make it very easy to find where you parked.”
The stars come out to Brimfield. The Hopkinses share that last year Diane Keaton was touring the field and was excited about all the wonderful finds located “all in one place!” Bryant Gumbel has also been spotted in the past.
The Hopkinses are looking forward to seeing everyone “and all the fabulous merchandise they display.” They are also “very hopeful for a profitable Brimfield in 2013.”
