Austin, Texas, is the best city in the U.S. to live in 2008 if you want to make movies for a living, according to MovieMaker Magazine’s eighth annual annual survey.
Albuquerque, N.M., moved up the list to hold 2nd place this year, with Shreveport, La., rounding out the top three.
Rankings for the list were determined on the availability of local production facilities, educational centers, screening venues and cost of living, among other factors. A city’s financial incentives for moviemakers were also taken into account, as was its green friendliness.
The cities that round out the magazine’s Top 10 list are:
4. New York
6. Wilmington, N.C.
8. Portland, Ore.
10. Memphis, Tenn.
