From the Editor: The older you get …

In honor of my service anniversary, co-workers brought in a cake decorated to look like a postcard.

My mother always told me that the older you get, the faster time goes by. Boy, was she right. Last month I celebrated 20 years at Krause Publications. But where did that time go? I celebrated my 40th birthday here. Then my 50th. That one was a humdinger, by the way. A co-worker brought me a cake, with all 50 candles lit. When I blew out the candles, I was standing directly under the smoke alarm. Yes, the alarm went off and the whole building was evacuated.

During the last 20 years I’ve celebrated 40 years of marriage, seen my kids grow up, serve their country (Christopher in the Air Force, Cathy in the Army), get married and start families of their own. Now I have six grandchildren. The good news is that  I don’t feel any older than when I started my first day on the job.

My message? ENJOY every day. LIVE every day. LOVE every day. Time goes faster than you think.
