MT. DORA, Fla. — Visitors and vendors streaming onto the grounds of the Florida Renninger’s Antique Extravaganza Jan. 15-17 enjoyed temperatures topping the high 60s – a far cry from the freezing temperatures that slammed the state into a deep freeze just days before.
GRAYSLAKE, Ill. – A long line of shoppers took advantage of a sunny day to line up for the first Zurko Promotions combination antique advertising and general line antiques and collectables show Sept. 12-13.

While some antique markets seem to be suffering from soft numbers of dealers and attendants, the Allegan Antiques Market at the fairgrounds in Allegan, Mich., is bucking the trend.
“It’s a bit chilly, but the deals are hot,” chuckled one shopper as he hiked onto the grounds for Renninger’s Antique Extravaganza, Jan. 16-18 in Mt. Dora, just a short drive north of Orlando, Fla.
Dealers setting up at the semi-annual Chicagoland Antique Advertising, Slot Machine and Juke Box Show Nov. 14-16 traded comments on the national economy – with varied predictions on how it would affect the big-ticket buying event.
More than 27,000 requests were made to attend the anticipated big television event of the year in Grand Rapids, Mich., but when the dust settled only 3,400 pairs of tickets were granted, all by random drawing.
