An unusual white ironstone pudding mold, circa late 1890s to 1913, made by the British Anchor Pottery Co Ltd. brought $79.77 in a Dec. 9 eBay auction.
The seller, serendipityuser, reported the rare white ironstone stenciled pudding mold to be in excellent condition with no chips, stains or hairline cracks. The mold featured a detailed recipe for Blanc Mange, a traditional British white pudding.
The mold measures 7 inches wide by 4 3/4 inches tall. The mold did have a firing defect, in one spot where the glaze was missed on the pottery surface. That didn’t seem to detract buyers who swapped 12 bids to push the final price to $79.77 in addition to its $14.89 shipping cost.
