Dealers from seven states to set up at Iowa toy show

MAQUOKETA, Iowa – An extensive selection of high-quality antique, modern and collectible dolls, toys and bears from a seven-state area headlines the Annual Fall Doll-Toy-Bear Show & Sale Sept. 13 at the Jackson County Fairgrounds, Maquoketa, Iowa.

Displaying those items and all others related for sale will be dealers from Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Minnesota, Nebraska and Wisconsin.

A special feature will be a free collectible toy given to the first 50 children over 5 years accompanied by an adult.

A wide variety of collectible dolls and toys are represented at the Maquoketa Fall Show – from bisque and hard plastic dolls to collectible bears to cars and tractors. Those looking for hard plastic, composition or other modern collectible dolls will enjoy the extensive selection of Ginnys, Genes, Madame Alexanders, and Kewpies, as well as unique and lovely artist original dolls and Reborn babies. Bisque doll aficionados will be equally pleased with the beautiful array of German and French beauties.

Doll repair service, such as restringing, is available on site and will be done while you shop. And while you have your doll in hand, view the doll accessories and supplies available. Wigs, shoes, clothes, hats, and other accessories – all are present to provide your doll with a fresh new style along with doll furniture and dishes.

Of course, Barbie and her Mattel friends will be on display in both their earlier and limited edition versions as well as their more modern incarnations.

A fan of character collectibles? The show will keep you entertained looking at spotlight stealers such as Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, Lucille Ball, John Wayne, Shirley Temple and Dorothy with Wizard of Oz friends. Peanuts and Snoopy with their friends also will join the group. Disney and Mickey Mouse fans will enjoy the selection of items.

Be sure to paw through the groups of cuddly bears in their older antique, collectible and artist variations. A special treat for bear lovers will be the unique artist bears displayed by a Multiple Award-Winning Bear Artist who will be present at the show.

Searching for more action? Track down great new additions to your action figure collection by checking out the wide variety of action figures and related collectibles such as GI Joe, Star Wars and Star Trek figures and items.

Also available at the show will be a selection of antique and modern toys, including cars, pressed steel construction equipment, tractors, trains, Hot Wheels, and Fisher Price toys.

The Annual Fall Maquoketa Doll-Toy-Bear Show & Sale takes place 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 13. You will be able to spend the day viewing collectibles of past and present from the thousands of antique, modern and collectible dolls, bears and toys in prices to suit every budget.

The show is located in Maquoketa, Iowa, at the Jackson County Fairgrounds at the Junction of Highways 62 and 64. Admission is $2.50, children under 10 are free.
