Great Eastern show sizzles with ephemera

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Collectors looking for postcards, photographs, books, music, calendars, documents, magazines, prints, and more ephemera will find much to choose from at the Great Eastern U.S. Antique Advertising, Book and Paper Show at the Allentown, Pa., Fairgrounds July 17.

The popular “Postcard Row” offers cross-over collecting appeal and affordable selections, all in one area of the building for easy shopping. Sit down and enjoy looking through boxes chock-full of holiday postcards, views of exotic locales, transportation themes such as cars, boats, trains, and planes, and lots of other categories. Dealers arrange cards by subject and alphabetically so they can help locate specific postcards quickly and easily.

Booths at the show will be filled with intriguing selections, from out of print and antiquarian books to maps, stamps, antique games, catalogs, seed packets, roadside Americana, and fruit crate labels, as well as boxes, bottles and tins that once held tobacco, medicines, toiletries, food or cleaning agents.

These nostalgic items from the past can enhance any collection, and the dealers bring their best. Whether it is a souvenir from expos and World’s Fairs, prints by Maxfield Parrish or other artist’s works, Scouting ephemera or fascinating items from radio, television and movie personalities, the Great Eastern event is a great choice.

Show hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Agricultural Hall at the Allentown Fairgrounds, 1929 Chew St. For more information, call Joyce Heilman at 610-706-0214, visit, email or write G.E. Productions, P.O. Box 806, Trexlertown, PA 18087. ?
