Original York Antiques Show & Sale returns in January

YORK, Pa. – The Original 154th semi-annual York Antiques Show & Sale is scheduled for Jan. 29-31 at the Memorial Hall East, located within the York Fairgrounds Convention & Expo Center. Situated in downtown York, Pa., this winter’s show will feature 96 exhibitors in room settings.

Show manager Melvin Arion said the merchandise at the York Show will run the gamut, including 18th, 19th century period American and English furniture as well as country pieces in original paint, fine early porcelain, pottery, Oriental carpets, quilts, hooked rugs, samplers and other textiles, estate jewelry, Native American pottery and weavings, early kitchen and fireplace items.

Arion selects dealers to broaden the scope of the show as broad as possible to ensure visitors can find a “new” treasure. Arion said this year’s show has very little dealer turnover, a strong testament to the show’s path.

New exhibitors this year include Alice and Art Booth of Wayne, N.J., Noonnmark Antiques of Moorestown, N.J., James Island Antiques from Charlestown, S.C., Pat and Rich Garthoffner of Lititz, Pa., Douglas Constant of Orient, Long Island, and Dennis and Valerie Bakoledis of Rhinebeck, N.Y.

Special to the show this season is the addition of James L. Lawrence of Little Compton, R.I., who will present his new book Roseware: English Rose-Decorated Pearlware, co-authored with Albert K. Doggett, recently deceased. Laurence will have a selection of roseware for sale and will be available for book signings.
