Record attendance at Orange County Marble Show

FULLERTON, Calif. – Although the U.S. economy may be down, that did not seem to be the case as more than 135 people attended the Orange County Marble Show that was held in Fullerton, Calif., on March 14. The record-breaking attendance was partially due to several of the best contemporary marble artists being on hand, including Carl Fisher, Travis Weber, Josh Hamra, Rich Shelby, Nate Meirs, Vee and Shauna Lamb, Derek Ivan, Christina Cody, Josh Sable, Mike Gong and more.

Not only were contemporary marbles offered for sale, but some of the best antique marbles were available, including rare sulphides, Christensens, Peltiers, Navarre transitionals, Akros, Jabos, and German handmades.

Antique marble dealers from Oregon, Nevada, Washington, Ohio and other states lined the exhibit hall offering buyers with choice inventory to add to their collections during the one day event. Dealers were happy with their sales and most reserved their spot for next year’s show.

Room sales and trades were also strong three days leading up to the show allowing dealers and collectors to advance their collections. The show’s organizer, Mike Close, stated that this year’s show had the highest attendance ever in the show’s history.
