Preston Evans’ Opportunities charges out of retirement with jukebox and music machine sale

NEWNAN, Ga. – After a four-year hiatus, the well-known vintage items auction known as Preston Evans’ Opportunities Auction is back with a selection of choice, seldom-offered antiques and collectibles that will bedazzle even the most seasoned collectors. This oportunity auction is made possible by Evans’ dear friend, who has never sold even one item from his collection that was  amassed over four decades. His love for jukeboxes is evident upon viewing the 75-plus handpicked jukeboxes that will now be sold. The event is scheduled for Sept. 16-17, 2011.

“Where Rare is Common” is rightly used in describing the kinds of items that buyers have found at Opportunities Auctions for more than 30 years. The upcoming auction will stand up to that reputation.

In addition to the huge collection of choice jukeboxes there are 19 other categories of items that must be sold. The main focus of the Evans’ auctions has not changed from those of the past. Evans began when the jukebox craze began in 1980. Over time, the auction business was built around selling those things that make life more fun such as anything that you might find in a well decorated game room of the past.

A few years back Evans was recognized in the 2000 Centennial World Book of records for reaching the highest price for any jukebox ever sold. That record held for approximately 10 years.

An impressive and large collection has surfaced from a couple who both have some serious health issues. They have also spent decades amassing the best selection of rare phonographs, the best Evans has ever had the opportunity to sell.
The Preson Opportunities auction will take place Sept. 16, with the sale preview beginning at noon and bidding starting at 3 p.m. The sale will continue Sept. 17; doors open at 8 a.m.; sale begins at 9 a.m.

Space is limited at Preston Opportunities’ events and they request that no children attend. Seats are available on a first-come basis for $25; the seating fee will be applied to any item purchased during this auction. A premium seating option is available for $100 a deposit reserves your seat in the front of our venue. (Again, the deposit will be applied to any auction item purchased.)
