ROCKPORT, Maine — The second annual meeting of the Antique Copperware Collectors Club was held in Rockport, Maine, from October 10-12.

A 9-piece set of Georgian copperware.

Enthusiastic members participated in a variety of activities, including informative discussions and active buying and selling among the members during the allotted time.

One presentation related to ongoing experiments on how to remove nasty tarnish from copper and an experimental tinning process.

Another interesting presentation pertained to the newly established Copper Art Museum in Clarkdale, Arizona. The museum will open December 1, 2013. Drake Meinke, founder of the museum, explained the museum’s history. He also described the sections that are located in the museum, namely, Informational Room, Military Room, Art and Architectural Room, Cooking Room, Drinking Room and Distillery and Mining Room.

One of the favorite activities was touring the copperware collection of this year’s host, Ginger Tuttle. The members were also treated to a delicious Maine lobster feast at her home on Friday evening.

The 2014 annual meeting will be held in Clarkdale, Arizona. For further information about the club, email
