Chair tourist attraction opening in Stone Mountain Village

STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. – Barbara Hartsfield has opened The Collectible & Antique Chair Gallery on Main Street. The facility features a unique three-room museum with a gift shop housed in a building constructed in the early 1900s. Hundreds of miniature chairs from a Guinness World Record collection will be displayed within 27 major exhibits and several smaller displays.

Some of the chairs are designed for holidays such as Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, Valentines Day, and Halloween. Other chairs have specific functions such as chair clocks, lamps, inkwells, cookie jars, bookends, salt and pepper shakers, jewelry and much more.

A 7-foot Christmas tree is decorated with more than 100 different chair ornaments. A jungle display is decorated with twig chairs and safari animals.
The inventory was collected over 12 years from antique shops, collectible shows, retail stores, eBay, home catalogs, national and international travel, and gifts. The chairs are constructed from an array of material and range in dimensions from miniature to doll chair sizes.

A visit to the gallery can be enjoyed by families and special interest groups, such as schools, churches, senior citizen programs, veterans, collectors, local and national tour buses.
