Advertising and soda pop event combines auction and Ohio Gas Expo

Hundreds of vintage neon clocks, lights and motion advertising signs from the Wayne and Shirley Woodrum lifetime collection plus a huge variety of rare antique country store items, soda pop, automotive, gasoline, hardware, clothing, ice cream, barbershop and related advertising pieces all make up a three day auction event, May 5-7, 2011,  in conjunction with the Ohio Gas Expo at the Dayton Airport Expo Center in Vandalia (Dayton), Ohio.

Vintage tin Richlube Motor Oil advertising sign soars to $7,425

An exceptionally clean, Richlube Motor Oil double-sided porcelain sign ("100% Pure Pennsylvania") soared to $7,425 at a March 4 sale. Consigned by a collector in upstate New York, the sign featured a small race car graphic and was graded 9 out of 10 on the front for overall condition, and 8.9 on the reverse side. The sign boasted super gloss and color, the only flaws being some minor crazing in the center, and small chips in the outer field and around the mounting holes. Otherwise, it was mint.
