A book filled with mug shots of early 20th century California prison inmates sold for $31,200 at Swann Galleries in New York just four months after it was sold fro $2,150 at an Oregon auction. An incredibly rare copy of The Aitken Bible, 1782, the first Bible printed in English in America, and an 1830 first edition of “The Book of Mormon" consigned by the descendents of John Wesley Brackenbury, a stepson of founder Joseph Smith, both provide collectibles for Heritage Auctions’ Sept. 12, 2011 Signature Rare Books Auction at Heritage.
