A rare and unusual collection of pig-shaped figural pottery bottles sold for $125,000 at a recent Glass Works Auctions. Of the 333 lots in the auction, 55 were from the collection of Gene Heisey, whose wife preserved the collection for 25 years after his passing. Read More +

The big bats in the flask collectors league were hot during a July 25, 2011 Internet and phone auction of nearly 400 early flasks, bottles and stoneware. Among the most sought-after items in the auction were three 1840-1850 flasks from the Louisville, Ky., glass works. Lot 59, a marked "Louisville Glass Works" scroll flask in a brilliant olive-yellow color was the highlight of the sale. Estimated at $6,000 to 8,000, it hammering at $31,050.
