Fascinating crime related photographs — from mugshot albums to crime-scene images — are up for bid during Swann Galleries' Oct. 17 Fine Photographs & Photobooks auction.
It was a one-of-a-kind auction at Swann Galleries on Dec. 18: A single-owner collection dedicated to images of maidens in the clutches of movie monsters.
Swann is offering the only complete version of Edward S. Curtis’s "The North American Indian" in its Oct. 4, 2012 sale. It could bring more than $1 million. Consignor John King said the set "deserves to be shared with collectors who can appreciate its scarcity, artistry and the recording of a great peoples.”
