Daniel Buck Auctions Offers Americana, Art and More Online

LISBON FALLS, Maine — A rare mannequin that’s jeweled and sequined from head to toe, rare Levi jackets, 1930s bubble gum cards, baseball cards, rare autographs including Alexander Hamilton, Japanese, Chinese and African items, coins and more will be offered at Daniel Buck Auctions' online-only Americana, Fine Art and Ethnographic auction on June 27.
The sale will also feature the photographic items from the collection of Herbert Spinney.

A 1940s Levis 506XX denim jacket, metal cinch back with pin teeth, red tag on breast pocket with a large “E,” metal buttons marked “Levi Strauss & CO S.F. CAL”; estimate: $6,000-$8,000.
Two 1931 W517 Strike Out Strip baseball cards comprising Babe Ruth, Yankees, and Bucky Harris, Detroit A.L., both being approx. 2-7/8" x 4"; estimate: $400-$600.
Various stoneware jugs are up for bid, including the rare 19th century Julius Norton cobalt-decorated stoneware jug shown in the middle; ovoid, Bennington, VT, 5-gallon, two handled, having a cobalt flower decoration on the front and cobalt decoration at each end of the handles, 17-3/4” h; estimate: $3,000-$5,000.
Oil on canvas, depicting a child standing in a landscape with flowers and a bird in a tree, holding a basket of raspberries in one hand and a whip in the other, the whip bearing the initials C.F.C. Attributed to William Matthew Prior (American, 1806-1873); estimate: $3,000-$5,000.
J.R.R. Tolkien-two volumes: Both are the first American editions of The Two Towers, 1955, and The Return of the King, 1956, and have maps in the back, Houghton Mifflin & Co., Boston; estimate: $400-$600.
