Iconic Hollywood memorabilia headlining Sept. 29-Oct. 1 auction

BOSTON – Invaluable recently announced that it is partnering with Profiles in History to offer live

online bidding on the three-day Hollywood Auction, which will take place September 29 - October 1, 2015. Bidders will have access to rare and iconic props, costumes and memorabilia from major motion pictures, along with rare photographs, movie scripts, contracts and film equipment from notable movie sets. Bidders can view the entire catalog and place bids online in real-time on Invaluable, as well as via mobile device using the Invaluable app for iPad and iPhone.

The auction includes over 50 items from the Star Wars franchise, including a “Blockade Runner” filming miniature (estimated at $200,000 - $300,000) and a “Rebel Fleet Trooper” helmet (estimated at $150,000 - $250,000) from Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. Additional highlights include a Carrie Fisher "Slave Leia" costume (estimated at $80,000 - $120,000) and “Jabba the Hutt” maquette (estimated at $12,000 - $15,000) both from Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi, a prototype “Darth Vader” helmet (estimated at $30,000 - $50,000) from Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back, and many posters from producer Gary Kurtz’s personal collection.

Highlights from the Indiana Jones franchise include Harrison Ford’s signature screen-used bullwhip (estimated at $100,000 - $150,000), a Harrison Ford screen-used shirt from Raiders of the Lost Ark (estimated at $40,000 - $60,000), Harrison Ford’s jacket from Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (estimated at $40,000 - $60,000) and Harrison Ford’s screen-worn fedora from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (estimated at $30,000 - $50,000).

Additional notable props and costumes being offered as part of the auction include:
• Ron Howard “Steve’s” screen-used 1958 Chevrolet Impala from American Graffiti (estimated at $800,000 - $1,200,000)
• Evel Knievel’s screen used XLCH 1000 Eagle "Stratocycle" from Viva Knievel! (estimated at $200,000 - $300,000)
• Robert Shaw’s “Quint” hero harpoon rifle from Jaws (estimated at $60,000 - $80,000)
• Sylvester Stallone “Rocky Balboa” gloves and boots from Rocky III (estimated at $30,000 - $50,000)
• “Marty McFly” 2015 Nike “Mags” self-lacing shoes from Back to the Future II (estimated at $30,000 - $50,000),
• Full-size hero Lifeboat #14 used to rescue “Rose” from Titanic (estimated at $20,000 - $30,000),
• Arnold Schwarzenegger signed “Terminator” jacket from Terminator 2 (estimated at $20,000 - $30,000)
• Julie Andrews “Maria” screen used acoustic guitar from The Sound of Music (estimated at $15,000 - $20,000)
• An Original Golden Ticket from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (estimated at $15,000 - $20,000)
• Robin Williams “Mrs. Doubtfire” complete costume and fat suit from Mrs. Doubtfire (estimated at $12,000 - $15,000)
• Tom Hanks “Forrest Gump” Class A uniform from Forrest Gump (estimated at $10,000 - $15,000)
• Michael Jordan’s uniform from Space Jam (estimated at $10,000 - $15,000)

In addition to costumes and props, the sale also offers photographs, manuscripts and film equipment. Highlights include a War of the Worlds transcript of the historic Orson Welles radio broadcast (estimated at $20,000 - $30,000), a Warner Bros. deal document signed by Humphrey Bogart (estimated at $10,000 - $15,000) and three documents signed by Harry Houdini (estimated at $6,000 - $8,000), along with signed photographic portraits of Laurel and Hardy (estimated at $3,000 - $5,000), Jean Harlow (estimated at $2,000 - $3,000), Rudolph Valentino (estimated at $2,000 - $3,000) and James Dean (estimated at $2,000 - $3,000).

Camera equipment being offered as part of the sale includes the Panavision PSR-148 35mm camera

used on The Exorcist and other films (estimated at $100,000 - $150,000), a historic VistaVision #1 (VV1) motion picture camera used to film The Ten Commandments (estimated at $30,000 - $50,000) and the Mitchell VistaVision High Speed #1 (VVHS1) used on Star Wars (estimated at $60,000 - $80,000).
