The crown grade is the highest grade of rifles offered by Weatherby. With deep relief engraving on wood & metal surfaces, this stunner found a new home for at $6,700.

Then straight out of a closet in the Chicago area came a NIB Model 71 Deluxe Winchester Rifle in 348 WCF. This rare find was shipped in for the auction and then shipped out to the tune of $4,300. Other highlights of the auction included:
• An early Winchester 1866 SRC in 44 Rimfire had lots of miles in the saddle but still demanded $3,850.
• Smith Civil War Carbine in nearly unissued condition shot to a mark of 3,600.
• Rare 450 Nitro cased Double Rifle by G.E. Lewis stayed strong at $3,500.
• Colt snake gun was offered at this auction & the King Cobra with original box was snapped up at $2,750.
• Scarce US Harpers Ferry 1803 Flintlock military rifle was sent to California with a $2,300 price tag.
• Circa 1820 Eagle Head Sword made in England for the US market had lots of interest stemming from its rarity & condition. It cut to a price of $1,850 before getting shipped out to the East Coast.

Some other great lots form Kramer’s Sept Auction are also shown, one rare item of particular interest on that auction was an extremely rare German WWII Model 1942 Seitengewehr bayonet. This bayonet/ combo tool is one of the rarest & most interesting blades of WWII & demanded $2,300 before finding a new owner.

The next firearms auction at Kramer Auction Service will be held Jan. 30. For more information, visit, or call 608-326-8108.
