Leslie Hindman Auctioneers expands to St. Louis
Come July, there will be another auction house in the St. Louis region with Leslie Hindman Auctioneers opening a new facility in Clayton, Mo.
CHICAGO — Leslie Hindman Auctioneers, one of the leading auction houses in the nation, is expanding its presence into the St. Louis area this summer.
In early July the firm will open a new auction facility at 32 North Brentwood in the heart of Clayton, Missouri. The company plans to hold its first auction at the St. Louis facility in the fall of 2014.
“We have received so many wonderful consignments of fine art, jewelry and decorative arts from the St. Louis area; it only makes sense that it be our next market for expansion. We have been planning to open in the area for over two years,” Leslie Hindman, founder and CEO announced.
The firm, founded over thirty-two years ago in Chicago, expects to hold three to four auctions in Clayton within the first year, in addition to sending major works of art and jewelry to Chicago for sale.
“St. Louis is a sophisticated market filled with important collectors, museums and other institutions. They have long been in need of a reputable, established auction house,” stated Hindman.
In addition to its main office in Chicago, Hindman also has auction facilities in Naples and Palm Beach, Florida, Denver, Colorado and Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
“Along with bringing a trusted, international auction firm into the local market, we truly become part of the community with the opening of each new regional office,” said Jim Sharp, Director of Regional Offices at Leslie Hindman Auctioneers.
