Tin sign may cruise to $10K in no reserve sale

Items from the two feature collections include advertising and other selections related to firearms — such as posters and calendars, along with drug store and apothecary items. Lots from more than 50 other collections include toys, banks, Coca-Cola, a soda fountain with marble counter, general store memorabilia, coin-operated machines, breweriana collectibles, distillery, petroliana and automobilia items, rare advertising signs, Western collectibles, salesman’s samples, political items and more than 200 tobacco tins, among other items.

Expected highlights include:
• 1959 Porsche convertible “D” car ($90,000-$100,000)
• Scott’s Emulsion reverse glass sign ($20,000-$30,000)
• Salesman’s sample road grader ($10,000-$15,000)
• Ithaca tin sign ($5,000-$10,000)
• 1880s Black Forest bench ($2,000-$5,000)
• 5-cent coin-operated claw machine ($2,500-$5,000).

A Cameron & Cameron dome-top smoking tobacco tin, the rare tri-color version, is one of more than 200 cigar and tobacco tins being sold, and should hit $1,000 to $2,000. Plus, an Arrowroot Apothecary reverse glass painted display jar, 21 1/2 inches tall, is expected to sell for $3,000 to $6,000.
