SHAKOPEE, Minn. — The Junk Bonanza returns to Canterbury Park Sept. 22-24, reuniting savvy
shoppers and skilled purveyors of vintage finds, beautiful antiques and artisan-repurposed and upcycled goods. The show is produced by Ki Nassauer (www.kinassauer.com).
The show's juried vendors showcase artfully staged vignettes of castoff and re-imagined treasures, predominantly 40 years or older or made from components of that age. Debuting this year is the “Junk Bonanza at the Paddock.” It includes more than 20 outdoor booths between the Expo and Main buildings. Enjoy a variety of dining options and a Canterbury Bloody Mary while you’re taking it all in -- more than 15,000 shoppers visited the April show.
• Pay homage to the vintage art form of paint by numbers. Attendees can pick up a brush and help to complete several oversize, paint-by-number canvases of iconic Minnesota scenes. A special area inside the entrance to the show will be designated for this crowd- sourced artwork. The Bonanza has commissioned a special backdrop composed entirely of vintage paint-by-numbers art. Those who Instagram their photo in front of it with the hashtag #paintbynumbersatJunkBonanza will be entered in a drawing for a special commemorative gift.
• Multiple “Lucky Friday” giveaways all day Friday. Register to win one of 40 $25 tokens to be redeemed for merchandise in any booths the winners choose during the Bonaza. All booths except those newly added to the Paddock area are indoors. General admission is $10 per day, with Early Bird admission (good for entry at 8 a.m. Thursday - two hours ahead of the regular show hours) for $25 online (www.kinassauer.com/collections/junk-bonanza), or $30 at the door. Regular show hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday and Saturday.
